Confetti Sweater
This I like to call the "confetti" sweater. Dare I suggest, the "Funfetti" sweater? Like those cakes I always used to love?
See, flecks of every color? I got about four compliments, half from strangers, within minutes of taking off my coat. Everyone wanted to know where I got the sweater, but truth is, it's tagless and I have no idea!
Want to know a secret? My "skirt" is actually a sleeveless denim sundress that I re-purposed into winter clothing. It's heavy enough to keep me warm, and dark enough to not look out of place!

Meeting the Parents: Real Edition
I spent Thanksgiving being too nervous to eat. Also known as: I "met the parents." But not so nervous that I couldn't perform karaoke (yeah, we're going to pretend the karaoke never happened. K?). So back here I posted some ideas for Meeting the Parents. I LOVE both of these ideas, but they were rather summer-y, and a lot of the pieces were no longer available (and from before I even had my boyfriend, lol). I'm also really trying to be good with my budget, so I decided to let myself pick up a new accessory to feel pretty and confident. Every girl loves to feel a bit "new" for a special occasion!
I actually ended up buying two new pieces (the necklace and the dress). I had a completely different outfit picked out, but felt really anxious about wearing pants. I know that sounds strange, but it's true. So I ran to the store and this little baby was just waiting for me. I am a firm believer that mothers love girls in dresses, and honestly, for a 2 hour car ride when I was feeling PMS-y, it was definitely the better choice.
The sweater is a wool blend, so it does a great job of actually working to keep me warm, but the sequin stripes are so stylish. This dress is my new favorite piece in my wardrobe! I love it's flowiness, the girliness, but with a bit of the edge that I so often like in my clothing choices....There is a (working! gasp!) zipper on the bust.

Overall, I felt very confident, girly, pretty, and like I fit in perfectly in this outfit. Not to mention I matched the Cranberry-Almond Upside-Down Cake I contributed to Thanksgiving, along with cranberry chutney I made and a polenta/goat cheese/roasted squash torta. Yeah, a torta. You're cool if you know what that even IS...
